Fresh guacamole made right at your table — great service, great fajitas! A great mexican restaurant in Boulder!

Great atmosphere for conversation, and the food was spectacular! Cantina Laredo has quickly moved to my fav’s list.

Definitely a great place to enjoy good conversation in a relaxing atmosphere. The guac made table side was delicious as were the fajitas. If you’re going to get a margarita, my only suggestion is getting it with no salt as they were pretty liberal with it but otherwise, great place for gourmet Mexican.

I ate at Cantina Laredo on the second night they were open so there were almost as many waitstaff as there were patrons. In a way this was nice and in a way it was overwhelming. Our waitress was a little too attentive - checking in every 3 minutes to see if we needed anything and I started to find the interruptions annoying.

I found to food to be satisfactory - not outstanding. The guacamole was quite good and the presentation (making the guac right at your table) was entertaining.

My margarita was very salty; there was a thick layer of salt at the bottom of the glass and I found it undrinkable. I switched to their sangria marg (interesting idea!) and it was really interesting and good.

I found it overly expensive for what it was (it really wasn’t that much more gourmet than other mexican restaurants in town).

I’m not dying to go back.

This was one of the worst restaurants I have eaten at in a long time. The service was aweful, the food was just okay, and the margaritas were not good at all.

I asked the server if the queso was vegetarian including chicken or beef stock and he said it was. Then he dropped off the salsa, which he failed to tell me had chicken stock in it. I had to ask after tasting it, and I am a strict vegetarian.

He came back 10 mintutes later, and I asked if they could make vegetarian tacos or something since there was nothing on the menu. He said, “Oh, did you need our vegetarian menu?” Obviously not the smartest.

The food came and it was just okay- Not worth $11. Some other events occurred involving the terrible service, but I had made up my mind to not go back even before any of that, so I don’t feel it’s necessary to include

Just had lunch here today and I would NEVER go back. Extremely average food that was painfully overpriced. The service was slow and paid zero attention to our table. Never refilled drinks, never cleared our plates. Would not go back even if someone else was paying.

Unfortunately I’m going to have to agree with the other negative reviews about this restaurant. It’s becoming the M.O. for the 29th St. Mall to produce mediocre restaurants with terrible service (see Railyard, Laudisio and A.I. Sushi). Why can’t they find someone who knows how to open a restaurant? Boulder has to be one of the easiest places to transfer your restaurant chain in terms of getting customers in the door.

In their defense, my food was decent. I ordered the “Asada Lunch” for $11.99 and the meat was cooked properly and tasted like what I expect for carne asada. The enchilada was a little heavy on the lime and light on the jalapeno, but was good. In fact, I was happy I didn’t go with the tacos for $8.99 that others in my party had; at least my meal was worth twelve bucks. Tacos shouldn’t cost more than $6 unless they’re made with Kobe beef or something.

The service was abhorrent. Our party arrived just before the lunch rush, but it was still 15 minutes before we even saw our waiter (whom we only got to see twice more: someone else brought our guac, our food, and took our payment. He only brought drinks and ran the cards).

We ordered drinks, food and table-side guac at the same time. My Coke arrived in the middle of my meal, which was set in front of me while our tableside guacamole was being prepared (this is very bad timing, in case you were wondering).

Once we were finished, our waiter brought the bill, and then disappeared for 20 minutes. We eventually handed our payment over to another waiter who promised to “keep an eye out” for our waiter.

While we waited (with out plates still in front of us, as no one bussed our table) I watched the staff frantically trying to handle the lunch rush. They were noticeably frazzled and the manager busied himself with hosting duties, instead of inquiring as to the service level and helping to eliminate bottlenecks.

I wish them luck in training their staff to value customer service, and keeping their frustrated cooks long enough to stay in business, but I can see this restaurant joining the “29th Street Deadpool” pretty soon. An hour and half lunch just won’t be acceptable to the working-class crowd that supplies these places with their lunchtime dollars.

I have gone to this restaurant 2 times now for lunch, and I am not impressed. The first time I went there, the wait staff was annoyingly overattentive, and the second time the service was so horrible it was like we were not even there. Aside from the bad service, I feel that the food is overpriced, and not very good. The food is “fine” if you are at some low key inexpensive restaurant, but to pay $10 for a burrito that is average at best kinda stinks. I’ve tried twice, both times the food wasn’t that good and the service was bad…I won’t go back a 3rd time.
